For eligible student mothers, Ally’s Place, through Aggieland Pregnancy Outreach (APO), provides more than just temporary housing. The program is designed to offer stability while helping mothers continue their education and work toward long-term housing and self-sufficiency.

A Stable Place to Live While You Stay in School
One of the biggest differences Ally’s Place can make is giving you time.
Residents can remain in the program until their child turns three or they complete their higher education program, whichever comes first. During that time, housing and all other APO and Ally’s Place services are completely free.
Rather than expecting you to figure out your future immediately, you’ll work closely with a caseworker and counselor to develop an individualized plan. That can include addressing current needs, connecting with resources, and working toward financial stability and independent housing.
Childcare Is Available Right Where You Live
Finding affordable childcare can be a major obstacle for a student mother. Ally’s Place has its own fully licensed Texas childcare center on-site, available exclusively to residents at no cost.
The center serves children from infancy through age three and is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. It uses the research-based Frog Street Curriculum and provides a safe setting for children while their mothers attend class, work, or pursue other goals.
Having childcare in the same place you live can remove one of the logistical challenges that might otherwise make continuing your education difficult.
Support Goes Beyond Housing
Life at Ally’s Place is also about preparing for what comes after the program.
Residents have access to pregnancy, parenting, and life-skills classes, counseling, case management, mentorship, spiritual care, financial literacy, nutrition assistance, and healthcare services coordination. Support is individualized because every mother enters the program with different needs and goals.
Essential clothing and baby supplies are also available on-site through participation in program classes, helping residents meet needs while developing skills they can carry with them.
