A Home, Not Just a House
A maternity home works best when it feels like a real home. At Ally’s Place, residents live in a community with on-site staff and other moms, sharing meals, responsibilities, and daily life. This stability can reduce stress during pregnancy and give each woman more time and space to focus on her health, her baby, and her goals.
Beyond a room of her own, each resident receives nutrition assistance, essential clothing and baby items, and counseling from people who genuinely care about her wellbeing.
Support Designed for Student Mothers
Ally’s Place was created with student mothers in mind. Residents can continue their education with free, fully licensed on-site childcare available Monday through Friday. Our licensed childcare center serves children from infancy through age three in a safe, nurturing environment. With caring teachers and a curriculum designed to support early childhood development, children are encouraged to learn, play, and thrive while their mothers attend classes or work.
Having trusted childcare just steps away provides peace of mind and allows moms to stay focused on achieving their educational and career goals. Residents work closely with a caseworker and a counselor to create a plan tailored to their individual needs and goals. This may include coordinating healthcare, finding a mentor, or connecting with community support.
Building Toward Independence
The goal of a maternity home is about much more than providing a place to live. It is also about giving women the resources and opportunities they need to build a future for themselves and their children. At Ally’s Place, residents take pregnancy, parenting, and life skills classes, grow in financial literacy, and set goals related to education, employment, and healthy relationships. Along the way, they can build practical skills, gain confidence, and form friendships with other moms who understand many of the challenges they are facing.
