What a blessing it is to be the director of APO’s GateKeepers program. It is GateKeepers purpose and plan to teach the gospel, impart parenting and life skills, prevent child abuse, and support emotional healing and maturity. It brings me great joy to support and connect with families by teaching parenting and life skills from a Christian perspective. Prior to joining the staff, I volunteered as a mentor mom for APO’s Mama Club in 2013-14.
I’m married to a loving and supportive man and we have five adult children and nine grandchildren. We’re members of Aldersgate UMC where I serve as the leader of women’s ministry. My family has always served in many ways in our church and community. I have lived in B/CS all my life, and have served local families and children for over 27 years through my career. My own life experiences and challenges have truly strengthened and prepared me for my role as GateKeepers Director.
In my spare time I enjoy long walks while listening to my favorite gospel songs. I love the community BBQ’s that my husband and I provide for our neighborhood. It fills my heart spending time with my family and grand babies. I have found new meaning in this season of my life. Being part of the APO team is a wonderful opportunity to do what I so enjoy, which is ministering to women and children.
